About The Way MBC

About Us

At The Way Missionarv Baptist Church of Selma, Alabama, we exist to exalt Jesus Christ, reverence the living Word of God, and walk boldly in the Way of truth-love-and holiness. Here, the Word is our foundation-it is relevant to every struggle, relatable to every soul, and relational in every season. We are committed to guiding people into a transforming relationship with Christ, built on truth that doesn’t change and love that never fails. We are not just hearers. but doers of the Word, where faith leads to fruit, and teaching becomes testimony.

As a community of believers, we walk the ancient path marked by Jesus, empowered by the Spirit, and anchored in the authority of Scripture. The Way is more than a name-it is our lifestyle, our mission, and our message to Selma and beyond.

Pastor Harry L. Allen Jr.

Pastor Harry L. Allen Jr. preaches kingdom-building. Having a true relationship with the Lord is a priority. Only then can your horizontal relationship be authentic. He believes in teaching those things that concern the Lord Jesus Christ, and in making the Word of God Relevant, Relatable, and Relational. Pastor Allen’s greatest desire is for people to know that they are never out of reach and that the Blood of Jesus is available to ALL.

Pastor Allen is a graduate of Keith High School, class of 1985. Pastor Allen has continued his education in pursuit of a biblical studies degree through New Orleans Theological Seminary & Moody Bible College, which is still ongoing. Pastor Allen is a reader who educates himself online through audible books, online classes, and courses from Tony Evans Training Center. Pastor Allen has been employed for 39 years at United Parcel Service; over the years, his career at UPS has taught him that persistence, consistency, and character, along with integrity, are principles that must be our core. These are his core, and they are very transferable into ministry and relatable to people on all levels of life. Mentorship is another leadership belief Pastor Allen believes in, and that is why he has several senior pastors in his life with whom he has regular meetings to make sure he is doing well in ministry. Pastor Allen is grateful for their mentorship and wise counsel, he speaks blessings upon their lives.

Ephesian 3:14-19 is a favorite message Pastor Allen would like to share; For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father, 15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, 16 that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, 19 and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Pastor Allen was born in Orrville, Alabama, to Mr. and Mrs. Harry and Lee Ella Allen. Pastor Allen is the youngest of six children. He has been married to Antoinette Allen for 20 years. They have four children and four grandchildren.
